The first phase of the cistern work in the UC lot is complete and the mobilization for the mass excavation has begun.  Demo of existing Harney Plaza began last week which included the demo of the stairs between Harney and UC on the 16th and 17th.  The demo of the concrete and landscaping is continuing through this week.  Mass excavation will begin in the southwest corner of the Harney Plaza Thursday, June 23rd.  With this will begin the multiple truck loads of off haul each day.  The relocation of the fire hydrant was completed last week and resulted in a wood ramp over the hose on the paver pathway between Gleeson and Harney Plaza to allow the contractor to still use the hydrant to keep the site wet during excavation.  The installation of fence lighting and speakers is occurring this week and will continue through out the week of June 27th.  The delivery and installation of the tower crane will be over a weekend in the month of July and is tentatively set for July 30th and 31st.

Cistern work is being completed this week with the asphalting of the UC lot on Friday.  Starting Friday, June 10th the Contractor will be drilling soldier beams, which will increase the noise levels in the plaza.  Demolition of the plaza concrete including the stairs between UC and Harney will begin Tuesday, June 14th.  Mass excavation of the plaza will follow the concrete demolition which will begin the increase numbers of dump trucks in and out of the UC lot.  Relocation of a fire hydrant next week will necessitate draining the fire sprinkler systems in Fromm and Gleeson, it will take one day and the buildings will remain occupied but will have Public Safety on fire watch.  This work will most likely be scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, this is dependent on the schedule for the city personnel who has to come on site for this work.
