HR Professional and Organization Development Programs

Professional Development

Our learning opportunities provide staff, faculty and student employees with helpful tools and training for job success.

Please refer to the Spring 2014 Professional Development Calendar for a list of workshops available now. If you are interested in attending a session, please follow the appropriate link to register online.

Collaboration with University Ministry

Each semester, Professional Development collaborates with University Ministry to offer a book discussion series to help faculty and staff expand their spiritual practices and/or their understanding of the Jesuit Mission. University Ministry also offers numerous opportunities for faculty and staff members' spiritual development. For a current listing of their programs, please visit University Ministry Events.

Leadership Development

We are using the classic book: Leadership from the Inside Out, by Kevin Cashman and a discussion series format to strengthen leadership development within the following groups: the Vice Presidents, Provost’s Council, Leadership Team and designated, experienced managers. This book was selected because of its relevant and applicable content and values-centered approach which matches the mission and values of our Jesuit institution. The group discussion format promotes and enhances learning and creates opportunities to read, think, reflect, share, discuss, debate, and engage in coaching and hands-on practice over time.

Organization Development

 We also offer a variety of organizational development consultative services to the University community, to help your team move from reactive to proactive mode. Services include:

  • Needs assessments
  • Planning/setting priorities and goals to ensure results
  • Developing work plans to ensure employee contributions to results
  • Process/workflow mapping
  • Change management
  • Team facilitations and building team resilience
  • Support to new supervisors/managers
  • Customized workshops (Example: customer service skills)
