MLA International Bibliography

Connect to this Database

The MLA International Bibliography provides searchable access to more than 2 million bibliographic citations to journal articles, books, dissertations, and scholarly websites. It indexes materials from 1921 to the present in academic disciplines such as language, literature, folklore, linguistics, literary theory and criticism, and the dramatic arts. Coverage includes literature from all over the world — Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America.

Gale's MLA International Bibliography incorporates both the MLA Thesaurus (Subject Guide) and the Modern Language Association's Directory of Periodicals, which offers detailed information on more than 6,500 journals, with 4,400 currently indexed in the Bibliography. Entries include editorial contact information as well as frequency, circulation, subscription prices and submission guidelines.
