NURS 110 - Interpersonal Communication in Nursing (2)

This course covers interpersonal communication theories and frameworks that most apply to successful nurse-patient interaction. Considerable attention is given to the interpersonal messages nurses produce for specific purposes; that is, the class material addresses the influences on, types, and effects of messages nurses use when interacting with patients (e.g., social support, comforting, reassurance, explaining illness, delivery of bad news, communicating about pain, compliance/adherence, instructions, etc.) for the purpose of improving patient outcomes.
