BUS 484 - Hotel Management (4)

This course is an introduction to the functional department activities and current issues in lodging operations, with an emphasis on rooms' management, including reservation activities, housekeeping, service, security, and human resources. The students will also gain an understanding of the relationship between ownership, the financing organization, and management of a hospitality business as it relates to different forms of operating agreements (e.g., management contracts, leases, and franchises), and development. It will provide a global perspective of the hotel industry and the issues facing its growth. Prerequisite: BUS 188. Restricted to Hospitality Industry Mgmt majors.
