ARCD 312L - Environmental Controls Systems Lab (0)

This lab course explores energy and environmental issues as they relate to the built environment and the materials used to construct buildings in a skills oriented hand-on manner. Students will calculate and experiment with the basic principles of energy flow. How to interpret climatic patterns and variables affecting building performance and occupant comfort will be explored through student design proposals and research. Exploration of the principles of lighting, heating, cooling and detailing through interactive exercises, small group discussion and workshop oriented investigation will provide a practical counterpart to the lecture portion of this class.  Prerequisites: Physics 110 or 130 AND Mathematics 107 or 109.
