LCC Resource Room

Welcome to the Resource Center, located on the ground floor of Cowell Hall G02.  We are here to assist Students, Tutors, and Faculty with Media requests for all 15 Languages offered by Modern Classical Languages (MCL), and English offered by the ESL program.

Students Students can view material in G02 during our office hours.  MCL Tutors can borrow specific media assigned to them by their Faculty.  The return date is May 2013 - please ensure that you return any media that you have signed out for 2013 to avoid any university holds on your account or fines.  Please feel free to drop by to review content on VHS, DVD, CD, and  text material from our library.   Walk-ins are welcomed, but reservations are preferred so we can coordinate all media and computer resources to meet your language learning requirements.  The Resource Room is run by USF Students, please email us at leem@usfca.edu in advance to ensure we can get your the resources you need. 

Gleason Library media reservations are made by Faculty will put on material on hold for short term sign outs.  Please contact Gleaslon Library Reserves in advance to ensure your titles are not checked out as there are maybe multiple requests made during the semester.  The contact information for Gleason Library Reserves is:  http://usfca.edu/library/access_services/reserves/

Technical and Media Resources

The Resource Center has 2 TVs and VHS/DVD players for media playback in G02, G02a, and G02b Tutoring Rooms.  In addition, there are computers with internet access and audio recording software for digital input and capture for your Language Learning.  The two Tutoring rooms are ideal for Peer Tutoring or they can be used for private study time.  Each of the computers include Audacity and iMovie HD software.  Head phones and Mic’s are available upon request but are not needed for personal recording with iMovie (with iSight) or Audacity.

We have a library of media resources in PDF format.  Please contact us for a list of files in any of these languages.

Tutors:

Tutors from all Languages are eligible to sign out CD/DVD/VHS, Textbooks, and Literature from the Resource Room.  Advanced reservations are recommended.  All material is available for sign out for the entire semester depending on the demand for all media.  A list of material in pdf  format is available upon request.  Please email leem@usfca.edu.
