Encountering History: Visual Culture and the Presence of
Time at Fort Point
A Lecture by John Zarobell(International Studies)
This lecture will discuss
International Orange, a public art exhibition that employs
contemporary art to interrogate and reflect upon our
relationship to the history of Fort Point. Time is the method
used by many of these contemporary artists to draw out the
complexities involved in looking backwards and determining what
this past might mean to us. International Orange will be open
from 10:00am-5:00pm through September 30, 2012, and there will
also be a guided tour with its curator, Cheryl Haines, on
Tuesday, September 18, 2012, for individuals seeking more
knowledge and insight regarding Fort Point and the exhibition.
USF will be providing free shuttle service between the USF
main campus (corner of Parker and Golden Gate behind Fromm)
and the USF Presidio Building both before and after the event.
