Augustin Motte(International Economics, Asian Studies)After graduation, I worked as a financial analyst for Belvedere Global Investors in San Francisco. BGI is an investment management company investing money for family offices, private banks and institutional investors. I liked the job and and learnt a lot. I was the first employee and I learnt a lot about building up a small business. I very much enjoyed learning about finance and entrepreneurship. I left BGI in February of 2009 because my visa expired, and I wanted to go back to Europe. I then started traveling for 3 months in the West Indies and in the Central African Republic.
After my travels, I started a new job in Lausanne, Switzerland. I worked for a private equity firm investing in farm land in Ukraine and South America. I really liked this job and the people I was working with.
In November 2010, I had the opportunity to buy 2 travel agencies in Paris, France, so I decided to quit my job and become an entrepreneur. I bought 2 small travel agencies that have been around since 1958. One is a business travel agency and the second is a hunting and fishing travel agency. I manage a team of 8 people and I've learn a lot, being the CEO. I miss my USF years and would love to do an MBA at some point. (9/3/13)
Alice Nie(World Religions and Spirtualities)After graduating from USF, I went to Morocco in the Peace Corps, working as a youth development volunteer. Following the Peace Corps, I got my Master's in Education from Fordham University in New York and was a New York City Teaching Fellow. I worked for two years at a public high school in Queens teaching English as a Second Language. After that, I became an English language fellow with the US State department, working one year in Hungary and one year in Turkey. I am now going back to school for my Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Literacy and English language education at Purdue University in Indiana. (07/06/12)
