Assistant Residence Director (Student Housing and Residential Education) (6 positions)
Under the supervision of a Residence Director, the Assistant Residence Director (ARD) is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive community and student development program for a residential community of between 200-500 students. The ARD participates in departmental projects and committees within Student Housing and Residential Education. The ARD also serves as a member of the University's on-duty crisis response rotation and a student conduct hearing officer. For more information, click here.
Graduate Intern for America Reads (Learning and Writing Center)
The America Reads Graduate Intern works closely with the faculty and staff of the Learning and Writing Center to oversee undergraduate tutors who provide their services to local elementary schools. The Intern is responsible for maintaining an extensive database of tutor information; hiring, training and supervising America Reads tutors; keeping in regular contact with America Reads Sites and Instructors; and communicating daily with participating tutors.
Graduate Intern for Career Services Center
Reporting to the Assistant Director for the Career Services Center (CSC), the Graduate Intern will serve as a member of CSC’s professional staff in supporting a range of career development/planning related events and activities. The Intern is responsible for assisting with program planning and development, workshops, and outreach/publicity in collaboration with CSC staff and colleagues across the University, while gaining exposure to the operation of an administrative unit within student affairs.
Graduate Intern for Cultural Centers (2 positions)
Under the supervision of the Director of Cultural Centers, the intern is responsible for promoting the educational and programmatic initiatives of the Intercultural Center (IC) and Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC) while gaining exposure to the operation of an administrative unit within student affairs. Particular focus will include partnership initiatives with the various academic and student affairs areas.
Graduate Intern for Family and Youth in Transition (Learning and Writing Center)
The FYIT program provides academic tutoring to students in San Francisco Unified School District in order to eliminate academic barriers of homeless students. The Intern oversees undergraduate tutors who provide services to homeless (transitional) students at San Francisco elementary schools. The Intern maintains an extensive database of tutor information, maintains FYIT contacts, visits tutoring sites, and communicates daily with participating tutors. The Intern also oversees the FYIT budget, invoices SFUSD monthly, and designs trainings for the tutors.
Graduate Intern for Recreational Sports
Reporting to the Director of the Recreational Sports Department, the RSD Graduate Intern will work closely with the Special Events/Program Coordinator inclusive of other professional staff with in the department with an emphasis in program management and production of special programs and events. The areas of exposure will be comprehensive from vision through inception to completion. Working in a variety of areas, the Intern will use his/her experience to help the RSD reach the departmental outcomes of providing programs and services that contribute to student involvement, participation, and satisfaction that contributes to establishing a commitment to USF.
Graduate Intern for Student Disability Services
Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of SDS, the Graduate Intern is responsible for assisting SDS staff in supporting and providing services to students with disabilities. Specific areas of focus may include: training students on how to use the SDS online database system, performing intake/follow up support for students with temporary disabilities, coordinating outreach/disability awareness events, and research activities.
Graduate Intern for Supplemental Instruction (Learning and Writing Center)
The Graduate Intern for Supplemental Instruction (SI) works closely with faculty and staff to oversee undergraduate tutors in the Supplemental Instruction Program. The Graduate Intern is responsible for hiring, training and supervising SI Leaders, attending SI courses and sessions, tracking the effectiveness of the SI program by gathering and analyzing data, and meeting regularly with his/her supervisor and staff.
