Student Stories

Below are photos and notes from real USF students, in their own words. The goal of the "From Here, I…" project is to share the stories of how students are impacted by their USF experience and to put a face to a handful of the all students that benefit from donations to USF.

If you have any comments or if you are a student that would like to contribute your story, please send an email the Student Philanthropy Committee and we will get if touch with you.

70% of USF students rely on financial aid. Donations play a crucial role in funding scholarships and keeping USF accessible to students like Sophie. Thank you to all the alumni, parents, students and friends whose generosity makes these scholarships possible.

Not many people realize that even full tuition only covers 80% of the cost of a USF education. Donations play an important role in helping to bridge the gap. Although none of us enjoy paying tuition, we appreciate that the generosity of others makes it a little lower!

The Class of 2012 has been donating towards a scholarship fund for future USF students. We are very proud of our classmates’ overwhelming response. We have already raised over $5,000 and are on track to become the most generous class in USF history!

30% of USF students are the first in their family to attend college. Many of these students come from low income families and gifts to scholarships from alumni help these students to achieve their dreams.
