The Student Philanthropy Committee is a group of student volunteers who work to create awareness about the importance of philanthropy at USF while raising money to provide scholarship support for our fellow students.
We celebrate generosity because without it, USF would not be what it is today; seven out of 10 of your friends might not be able to be here. We believe that USF should remain accessible to students from all backgrounds. Meet the committee

Senior Class Gift
The Senior Class Gift is an important USF tradition. Previous classes have directed their gifts to projects such as buying books for Gleeson Library or the “The Sprinter” statue outside Koret, but the priorities of this generation are different. Recently, the senior class gift has been re-designated to benefit a need-based scholarship to support students next year called the USF Scholarship.
Last year, the Class of 2014 contributed $18,254 to help students build the educational foundation of the rest of their lives. Their generosity is benefiting students right now! When you are a senior, we will need the support of you and your peers to help raise money for the USF Scholarship. 100% of your donation will go towards scholarships and your gift of any amount will help students who otherwise may not be able to continue their USF education.
70 percent of first-time USF freshman students rely on financial aid. Thank you to all the alumni, parents, students and friends whose generosity makes these scholarships possible.
Generosity Week kicks off each spring to raise awareness of student giving at USF. Last year, the food trucks at the event donated 10 percent of their proceeds to the USF Fund.
Nearly 65 percent of all USF undergraduates students rely on financial aid. Thank you to all the alumni, parents, students and friends whose generosity makes these scholarships possible.
USF students are donating towards a scholarship fund for future USF students. We are very proud of our classmates’ overwhelming response!
30 percent of USF students are the first in their family to attend college. Many of these students come from low income families and gifts to scholarships from alumni help these students to achieve their dreams.
USF alumni donate millions of dollars to support current and future students. Thank you for supporting us and helping further the university’s mission!
