Students Overview

We are delighted to have you be part of our academic community and hope you will play an active role in your learning experience at the School of Education!

As part of a Jesuit University, the School of Education has a special obligation to link teaching, research and service in a manner which reflects the intellectual, ethical, and outreach traditions of this University. As a result, all of our activities are marked by care for the student and intellectual integrity. We also have a moral imperative: to be responsive to the needs of the ethnically and linguistically diverse population of our community.

The School of Education also strives to assist all its students in realizing their academic goals. To that end, we provide for you a variety of resources and information, including academic calendars, deadlines, news, upcoming events, student handbooks and on-line forms, to name a few.

We also invite you to take advantage of the vast array of support services this University offers, such as the Gleeson Library, the Learning and Writing Center, the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT), International Student Services, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the Koret Health and Recreation Center and the Career Services Center. You can access more information about these services from both the main USF web site and USFconnect. We encourage you to log on on a regular basis to keep yourself informed about School and University events and to participate in your community.

Finally, we seek your constant collaboration and feedback in order to develop programs that meet your needs and create a sense of community. Therefore, we particularly encourage each of you to participate in the School's Graduate Student Association (GSA) activities and meetings.

We look forward to your joining us in many of our community-building events and wish you the best in your academic endeavors!
