The Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is designed for individuals who wish to work with ESL students in K-12 schools, travel abroad and teach English, or be eligible to teach ESL at the community college level.
For candidates who complete all teaching credential program requirements at USF, the MA in TESOL may be obtained by successfully completing the following five courses (15 credits) offered in the International and Multicultural Education (IME) department and in General Education. The preliminary teaching credentials offered in conjunction with the Master of Arts in TESOL are:
Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential with an optional Bilingual Authorization in Spanish | 36-40 credits.
Preliminary Single Subject Credential with an optional Bilingual Authorization in Spanish | 34-38 credits.
