Three Days in Salzburg, Austria
The class begins with three days in Salzburg, Austria. Class activities include a walking tour of the city, a tour of the Eagle's Nest at Obersalzberg, and experiencing a Mozart concert. There willl also be plenty of time for you to explore the town on your own and with your classmates. During the first couple of days of travels, students will gain important first impressions of Europe and have fun in this magical city.
Seven days studying at the Salzburg Seminar
After three days in Salzburg, the class will relocate to the Salzburg Global Seminar. The Seminar is situated at the majestic Schloss Leopoldskron, former home to the Prince Archbishop of Salzburg and setting for the Sound of Music. The Salzburg Global Seminar is an ideal site for rigorous intellectual explorations.
Students will learn from an outstanding faculty of international and domestic scholars. Using lectures, field excursions, and small group work as points of departure, the seminar agenda and atmosphere encourages deep discussions with fellow students and faculty. The conversations that begin in Salzburg continue with fellow classmates and faculty from USF and a distinguished group of seminar alumni throughout the world.
