International Admissions
All applicants who earned undergraduate degrees in a non-English speaking country are required to submit their scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). To avoid delays in processing your application, we suggest you request that your test scores be sent to USF at the time you pre-register. You should send a photocopy of the official TOEFL or IELTS scores with your application. However, official scores must be forwarded to USF Masagung Graduate School of Management by the testing agency.
A minimum TOEFL score of 600 (paper-based) / 250 (computer-based) /100 (Internet-based) or a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 is required to apply. After review of an application, international students may be required to take a Saturday morning non-credit, no-fee short course in cultural and language adjustment, American classroom expectations, student team interaction, and other topics relevant to their academic success at USF.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents are not required to take the TOEFL or IELTS.
Exceptions from taking the TOEFL or IELTS:
• International students who have earned a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand or Canada.
• International students whose native language is English.
• International students who are applying to the program on an H-1 or H-4 visa. However, if the student converts to an F-1 visa after acceptance, the student must provide a TOEFL or IELTS score that meets the minimum requirements listed above before an I-20 may be issued.
Transcripts
International applicants must present an evaluation of all required
academic documents compiled by an independent academic credential
evaluation provider. USF MBA Admissions requires that all applicants use World Education Services for this service and we recommend that you review the Frequently Asked Questions listed on the WES website. Click here to apply for this evaluation. WES requires a fee from the applicant for processing applications.
Please make note of the following:
- You
do not need to have any documents sent from your international
institution to USF. Your documents will go to WES, and USF will receive
a copy of the original documents along with the evaluation.
- You must request the Comprehensive Course-by-Course Report of your credentials.
Certification of Finances To meet requirements for entry into the U.S. for study,
international applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient
financial resources to meet expected costs of their educational program
and living expenses. Documentary evidence of these resources must be
provided before a visa can be issued. This document must include your
sponsor's name, address and source of income and must be verified by
bank stamp or a United States Consul. If your financial support is from
your home government or other official agency (e.g. Fulbright), you
must submit similar documentation. Please click here to see the estimated Certification of Finances requirements.
