Intensive Part Time MBA

Program OverviewElectivesAreas Of Emphasis

The Intensive Part-Time MBA offers an accelerated pace of study for part-time students who have completed an undergraduate degree in Business within the last five years, and at least two years of work experience. This program begins in May with a highly integrated Fast Track that focuses on what actual managers and leaders do: lead, innovate, analyze, control, communicate and explore. In addition, the program examines the human context and catalysts for decision-making: investors, customers and competitors. Once students have completed the Fast Track component, they join other USF MBA students in targeted, specialized business elective courses, which include international study tours.

Meeting two or three days per week, the program takes less than 24 months to complete. The curriculum consists of 48 units. Areas of emphasis include finance, entrepreneurship, international business, and marketing.

The Fast Track
The Fast Track, the first component of the Intensive MBA program, consists of eight integrated core courses along with three types of experiential learning. Each course includes 24 hours of scheduled, intensive learning in a cohort environment. In addition to these courses, Fast Track includes individual and group immersion in the business life of the Bay Area, Silicon Valley, and global business communities. Professional career development activities are integrated throughout the Fast Track experience. Core courses include specific focus on the roles and responsibilities of the Leader, Investor, Controller, Analyzer, Innovator, Customer, Communicator, Competitor, and Explorer.

Curriculum Flow Chart
Courses are offered in fall, spring and summer terms, and follow a cohort model during the first two semesters of the program. Thirty-two units of elective courses, including an international study component, allow students to master their selected field of study.
