Current Research & Research Interests
My research examines the organizational and social influences on new Information Technology (IT) development, adoption, use, and outcomes, including:
- The value conflicts and social choices embedded in particular ITs
- New theories and tools for understanding socio-technical systems and their effects
- Helping managers make better choices about new combinations of business processes, IT, people, and performance measurement
- Technologies: new internet business applications (open source and SaaS), video game industry, handhelds/PDAs, mobile applications, enterprise systems.
- Theoretical approaches: social construction/social shaping of technology, actor-network theory, IT innovation.
