Leadership Retreat
Overview
January 3-6, 2002
Kathleen Kane, Ph.D. and Lance Giroux
The University of San Francisco, through Executive
Education, announces a "Winter - 2002" offering of the
USF Leadership Retreat. This event is part of our commitment to
global leadership development of future organizational leaders.
Background and seminar overview
On August 9th Dr.
Kathy Kane, Professor of Management & Organizational Behavior
at the School of Business and Management, and Lance Giroux, President
of Allied Ronin Leadership
Training & Consulting, opened the second USF Leadership Retreat
with 36 participants at the McLaren Building, USF, and conducted
the remaining sessions at Westerbeke Ranch in Sonoma, CA. Kane and
Giroux will conduct the next Retreat January 3-6, 2002.
This powerful program is unique in that it is open to USF students
and alumni, their work teams and spouses, and professionals from
the general public. It is one of USF’s most exciting innovative
programs. In a beautiful setting absent the noise and distractions
of today's work world you will sharpen your competitive edge and
focus directly on your personal effectiveness and professional development.
The Kane/Giroux team will use a blend of cutting edge experiential
and traditional teaching and business models. Today's professionals
are faced with: growing responsibilities and tasks; more to do and
less time in which to do it; the complexities of an ever accelerating
business pace; daily advances in technology; and a need to have
a fulfilling personal and family life. Individuals and teams seldom
take the time to slow down, look at and connect with:
- What's really important to their own well-being;
- The soul of their businesses;
- The glue that keeps healthy organizations alive and thriving;
- The personal and professional relationships that foster long
range effectiveness.
Date and Location
The Winter 2002 offering of the USF Leadership Retreat will open
at 6 pm, January 3, on the USF Main Campus, and will continue January

Conference Center located a few miles west of the town of Calistoga
in the heart of the California wine country. In an area abundant
with California heritage and natural beauty, Mayacamas Ranch is
