[MUSIC PLAYING] The University of San Francisco has a great Masters of Science in Data Science. And it's a great program because you come in not expecting to know much, but they give you the resources that you need to within a year be a successful and well-rounded data scientist. It's a one-year intensive program, full time, where we commit five days a week to coursework and also the practicum. One of the things that I like the most about this program is that it has a strong emphasis in computational aspects of data science, mathematical aspects, and also business components. So we are able to bring a lot of value to our work by integrating these three areas that are very important for the data science industry. One of the biggest advantages I've gotten in studying data science is it completely changes the way you think and go about problems. You get comfortable taking on vaguely defined business problems and know how to formulate it as a problem that can be solved analytically with math and computer science. It's really intense, but it's really rewarding because you are surrounded by all these people who are interested in the same things you are and give you that support. And the classes are just-- they're pretty much the tools that you need to be a successful data scientist. Faculty really cultivate an area where we can really learn, learn from each other, and be creative. Our program is located at a downtown campus. I will say the downtown campus is really a good place to network because there are so many great companies located here, like Google or Amazon, and also some new, famous startups, like Slack and Uber. Right after class, I can just walk a couple of blocks and go to different meet-ups everyday. And these meet-ups are great for networking, great for being involved in the tech industry and getting to know all the data science people. This is where the innovation is happening for this career. And having those connections to these companies just opens up a lot of opportunities for you to be the front end of data science. You can hear laughter in the classroom. And I think it's just-- it's great because this is a pretty rigorous program. But I think one thing to realize is that we're very supportive of one another, and friendships are forming. And that definitely makes the learning experience very enjoyable. [MUSIC PLAYING]
