Celestial Dragon
A Life and Selected Writings of Fr. Francis Rouleau
By Barry Martinson

Father Francis Rouleau was a China missionary, Jesuit historian, beloved teacher, counselor and spiritual master. "Celestial Dragon", which is also Father Rouleau's name in Chinese, is a portrait of this extraordinary Jesuit, sketched from his own letters, and colored by personal devotion of those who knew and loved him.

Francis Rouleau's twin loves were for the Church in China and the Society of Jesus. This life in letters, at once tragic and uplifting, reveals not only his profound knowledge of China's religious history, but his deeply personal affection for the Jesuit ideal.
