Edward J. Malatesta, S.J.:
A Friend of China
Edited by James Torrens
and Xiaoxin Wu |
|
This book is about the Reverend Edward J. Malatesta, S.J., founding director of the Ricci Institute at the University of San Francisco. In order to capture the life of this Jesuit priest and scholar, who devoted the latter part of his life to China and the Chinese people, five of his close associates contributed papers to this booklet. Through these papers, the authors introduced, or reintroduced, Father Malatesta as a scholar and a friend of the Chinese people in the particular cultural and international context of the last two decades of the twentieth century.
