Transportation & Directions
The University of San Francisco provides a number of commuter incentive programs and services to the University community. These programs have been implemented in order to comply with the State of California's Clean Air Quality Act, American Disabilities Act and in a constant effort to better manage University parking resources. Bay Area Commuter Check Program:
The Transit Pass Subsidy Program is available to all full-time faculty and staff that do not have a University parking permit. The program provides a monthly $35.00 subsidy towards any public transit pass. Please contact Human Resources for additional information.
Guaranteed Trip Home Program:
The Guaranteed Trip Home Program is available to faculty and staff whom either carpool or take public transit to work. The program is intended for those employees who live within the City of San Francisco and are forced with an emergency that requires an immediate departure from campus to home..
San Francisco Municipal Railway, BART and Commuter Information:
The City of San Francisco is known for its amazing public transportation system. SF Muni offers a wide variety transit vehicles such as cable cars, historic streetcars, buses, metro, lightrail vehicles, streetcars. Undergraduate students have a semester pass for all SF Muni lines incorporated into their tuition. Undegraduate students may pick up the SF Muni pass at Associated Students located at the ground level of the University Center building. Passes are available during the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. Student must have the USF One Card in order to pick up their SF Muni pass.
SF Muni bus lines, 5 Fulton and 31 Balboa, run parllel to the University of San Francisco on Fulton and Turk Streets and stop directly at the Kendrick School of Law, Main Campus and the Lone Mountain Campus. Campus Shuttle Program:
No longer operates as an inter-campus/convenience shuttle during the daylight hours. We have merged our efforts with the Department of Student Disabilities and Human Resources to provide a ADA shuttle only. Faculty, staff and student must be registered with SDS or the Human Resources in order to have access to this service. Please contact the Student Disability Services at 422-2613 or Human Resources at 422-6707.

Night Safety Program:
Department of Public Safety staff operates the safety service between 6 am to 1 pm, Monday- Sunday. This Safety Service is intended to provide a safe means of transportation when no other form is available. Request for pick ups from on campus and off campus locations must be to a residential address with the following boundaries:
- North Boundary: California Street
- East Boundary: Divisadero Street
- South Boundary: Fell Street
- West Boundary: 6th Avenue
