Office of Institutional Research: Mission and Goals
Within the Provost Division, the Office of Institutional Research is responsible for the development and dissemination of institutional research and analytical studies relative to academic planning, policy formulation, administrative decision-making, and the fulfillment of the university mission. The office verifies, analyzes, and integrates statistical data from across the university; works with other university offices to assist in the preparation of major studies and reports; and responds to requests for statistical information from the President, the Provost, the Vice Presidents, and from other executive officers and their representatives. Specifically, the Office of Institutional Research is designed to achieve the following goals:
- To provide consistent, accurate, and official reporting of USF institutional data.
- To conduct research and analysis in support of institutional effectiveness, planning, and decision-making.
- To coordinate specialized institutional research projects.
- To collect, evaluate, and distribute, as appropriate, external reports and data germane to the university, its executive officers, and offices.
- To conduct specific research projects for the university on the fulfillment of the university vision, mission, and values.
