Transportation

San Francisco is served by two major airports: SFO and Oakland.
SFO is slightly closer, but Oakland sometimes has better fares.

Each of the airports is served by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit, a light rail system).

($5.15 from Oakland or $4.95 from SFO) as well as an array of door-to-door limo services. The limo services cost about $15/one-way. Shuttle reservations from SFO can be made in advance with American Airporter Shuttle (415-202-0733) or Bay Shuttle (415-564-3400). More options are available at <http://www.flysfo.com>. From Oakland, there are smaller companies typically available at the shuttle waiting area; see <http://www.flyoakland.com>. A taxi will cost at least $45 dollars.

If you choose to take BART, you will have to transfer to the MUNI bus to reach the hotel or university. If you wish directions, go to http://transit.511.org/ and click on the “Trip Planner.”
