About LELSA
The Labor and Employment Law Students Association is a community of law
students focused on employees and their legal relationship with their
employers. Our organization also focuses on providing resources and
development in three core areas: academics, career placement, and
community involvement.
- What is
Labor and Employment Law?
This area of law addresses the relationship between employers and their
employees. Labor and employment attorneys work in big firms and small
firms,
government agencies, and as in-house counsel. They often specialize in
a particular client group like representing companies, workers, or
labor unions; or a particular practice area like employment
discrimination, employee benefits, workers compensation, or
wage-and-hour claims.
- What
does LELSA do?
We are a group of law students with diverse interests in labor and
employment
law. We plan professional, academic, and social events; and help
connect interested students with practitioners for networking and
internship opportunities.
- How can
I get involved?
LELSA is going through a renaissance this year, and is looking for many
creative members to help chart our future. If you want to make a
meaningful contribution during your time at USF and want to be actively
involved in a professionally-focused organization, we want you.
- Stay in
touch: Sign-up for
LELSA's email list. We'll email out information
about upcoming activities, LELSA events, and other information of
interest to our members. (And the list is moderated, so don't
worry about spam.)
