Mission Statement

The Office of Planning and Budget within the Center for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness (CIPE) serves the institution's Strategic Priorities through budget development, ensuring future plans support the Vision, Mission and Values of the University of San Francisco. We are committed to a transparent process, and the staff consists of highly-qualified, service-oriented individuals focused on the common good.  The office strives to:

  • Enhance institutional credibility

  • Maintain confidence and trust
  • Use technology strategically
  • Support and promote a culture of evidence

By pursuing these values, the staff fosters respect for the University's legacy, the fulfillment of current strategic priorities, and the development of the institution as a premier Jesuit Catholic university.

Strategic Goals

Consistent with the University Goals, the following goals are prioritized:

Goal 1: Ensure that our institutional planning process allows us to purposefully advance the University's mission.

Goal 2: Recruit and retain excellent staff that are committed to USF's mission, share its values, and embrace its "culture of service".

Goal 3: Ensure that the Office Planning and Budget contribues actively to the implementation and adoption of our new Business Intelligence Tool (BI).

Goal 4: Develop tools and analyses that help leadership make informed decisions which ensure USF's long-term financial stability.

Goal 5:  Promote transparency of institutional financial resources.
