To Do Checklist

Reminder:  For registered students, payment for tuition, fees, room and board is due on January 3, 2012, and your online Fall billing statement or your current account activity will be available on December 6, 2011. 

Complete the Student Consent to Release Information Form   As soon as you, the student, registers for classes, your records at USF are protected from unauthorized release under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act.  USF staff is prohibited from giving out your specific information regarding student account, financial aid, and registration records (including grades) to anyone, including your parents, unless you, the student, have submitted a “Student Consent to Release Information” form.

Create Authorized Payers(s)  Authorized Payers are parents, spouses, employers, etc., who are given access by the student to view bills and make payments online. You may create Authorized Payer profiles through ebill & epay in USFconnect . Once you provide the Authorized Payer with his/her username and password, an Authorized Payer may login to view bills and make payments--all online!

Opt-in to receive bill notification  via text messaging. To receive bill notifications via text messaging, student may update user preferences in ebill & epay in USFconnect. Authorized payers(s)can also update user preferences as well. Please note that there may be a fee depending upon the terms of your cell phone plan.

Enroll in the Payment Plan by January 3rd if you wish to pay by monthly installments.

Complete the Online Refund   We recommend direct deposit of a credit balance as the most efficient method for receiving your refund. To arrange for direct deposit to your checking or savings account, complete the Online Refund AuthorizationForm.  

Complete Financial Aid requirements if you have applied for aid:

  • Turn in any outstanding financial aid documents.  View these by logging into USFconnect  and going to the Financial Aid tab in Student Self Service.  Outstanding requirements are listed in the Financial Aid Status section.

Student Employment  Submit on I-9 form in person to One Stop and obtain a Work Clearance form. 

Waive Health Insurance  Undergraduate students taking nine units or more will be automatically enrolled in, and have their accounts billed for, the University-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan. Students who are able to prove that they have coverage comparable (equal or better) to the University-sponsored plan under a United States-domiciled health insurance company may waive this requirement each academic year.  Domestic undergraduate students may waive this requirement through the online waiver form .  International students must waive it in person at the Health Promotion Services office (UC 5th Floor).
