Courtney Keeler, School of Nursing and Health Professions

Courtney Keeler has been awarded the first year of funding through a sub-award from the University of California, San Francisco. She will receive $56,275 over a three year period for her participation on a TRDRP grant entitled the "Economic Impact of Tobacco Taxes in the African American Community." Courtney's primary work will involve estimating the price elasticity of three quitting behaviors (smoking cessation, quit attempts, and intention to quit) among African American smokers using California survey data. She will also assess whether the price elasticity differs by menthol cigarette smoking status and by income level.
