Join us for an exciting series of presentations and workshops centered around leadership in nursing and the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) role. The 5th Annual CNL leadership conference will present the current state of the CNL role within the context of past achievements and future opportunities. Plenary sessions will highlight the CNL role, leadership in nursing, micro-and macro-system management, and The Future of Nursing. This dynamic two-day meeting is designed to inspire innovation in practice.

DIRECTIONS TO USF

For driving directions to USF please visit http://www.usfca.edu/online/gen_info/directions.html Parking will be available in the Koret Parking Lot on the corner of Turk and Parker Streets. No permit is necessary.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations received with less than one week’s notice will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. There will be no refunds for no-shows. The conference sponsors reserve the right to cancel this conference and any group activity that does not meet minimal group requirements. Call for Poster Presentation Abstracts

 We want to hear your CNL leadership stories!

The University of San Francisco invites you to submit an abstract for a poster presentation that showcases a proposal for implementation of CNL role in your institution, process or outcomes of change, innovative assessment methods or lessons learned for implementing aspects of Clinical Nurse Leader practice in health care systems.
Abstracts must be emailed, faxed or mailed, postmarked by May 1, 2012.

Participants may be able to submit abstracts after that date until May 15 based on availability. Electronic submissions preferred. Submit to: nursing@usfca.edu

Directions for Abstract Submission

The proposal abstract should include background information, a description of methods/outcomes and recommendations for others who may be considering a similar approach for implementing aspects of the CNL role. Abstracts should describe original, unpublished work and can include work in progress. Selected proposals will be presented at the conference for an audience of national speakers, chief nurse executives, nurses, faculty and students.

Abstract Format:

a) The abstract must be typed in Word in 12 point Times New Roman font. All text for the abstract must fit on one page with one-inch boarders all around. The body of the abstract should be single-spaced.
b) The following text should appear centered and single-spaced as the first lines on the abstract:
Line 1: Title of your presentation (in all capital letters)
Line 2: The author and co-author names and credentials
Line 3: Institution/organization
Line 4: City and state
c) Leave one space between the city and state line and the body of the abstract.
d) Each abstract must be accompanied by the contact information form (see below).

Due Date:

Abstracts must be emailed, faxed or mailed, postmarked by May 1, 2012.
Electronic submissions preferred: nursing@usfca.edu. You will receive an email message confirming receipt of the abstract submission.

Acceptance Notification:

Authors will be notified about the status of their submission(s) via email no later than
May 15, 2012.

This will be sufficient time to meet the hotel cutoff and the conference registration deadlines. All presenters must be registered for the conference in order to present. Presenters are responsible for their own expenses, including the conference registration fee.
