(Feb. 21. 2002 | San Francisco) San Francisco Archbishop William Levada will speak at a new lecture series sponsored by the University of San Franciscos St. Ignatius Institute.
Levada will speak on New Apologetics for the New Millennium? Tues., March 5, 4 p.m. at McLaren Complex, 2130 Fulton St. on the University campus. The lecture was originally scheduled for Sept. 11, 2001, but was postponed due to the terrorist attacks.
The lecture is free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the Saint Ignatius Institute and the University of San Francisco Catholic Studies Program.
"The St. Ignatius Institute, the Catholic Studies Program, and the entire university welcomes this opportunity to join with Archbishop Levada in further reflection on matters of importance to San Francisco and the world, said Paul Murphy, Ph.D., director of the St. Ignatius Institute. The purpose of the lecture series is to further the dialogue between faith and culture. The archbishop helps by offering his local and global perspective.
The St. Ignatius Institute offers a classic Jesuit liberal arts education through its concentration on the Great Books within a four-year curriculum that emphasizes philosophy, theology, and the humanities.
