Mayoral Candidate Forum on Service
On May 5, 2011, USF's Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public
Service and the Common Good partnered with buildOn, a national
non-profit organization, to host a forum on service
featuring the candidates running for mayor of San Francisco.
When: Thursday, May 5, 2011
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Where: McLaren Conference Center on USF's main campus
Participating Candidates: Michela Alioto-Pier, John Avalos, David Chiu,
Bevan Dufty, Tony Hall, Dennis Herrera, Joanna Rees, Phil Ting, and Leland
Yee.
Modeled on the 2008 Presidential Candidate Forum on Service, the Mayoral
Forum at USF will enable the candidates to address substantive questions
about the future of service and engaged citizenship in San Francisco.
Candidates will be asked how to increase trust in local governmental
institutions and social trust within our communities, revitalize local
democracy, and ensure that San Francisco becomes a city of service.
The McLaren Conference Center is located in the heart of USF's main campus. Complimentary parking is available
(first-come, first-served) to forum attendees in the Koret parking structure
on the corner of Turk and Parker.
