oDesk has announced that Nilesh Lakhani has joined the company as CFO. Lakhani is joining oDesk at a time when the platform for online employment is enjoying explosive growth, and thousands of new companies each month are adopting it to hire, manage, and pay a high-quality global contract workforce.
Lakhani is an experienced financial executive with a successful track record at public and private growth companies in the technology, media and telecommunications industries. He has served in various financial management roles for the past 26 years and, as part of oDesk's executive management team, will play a key role in developing the company's growth strategy. Most recently, Lakhani was CFO of Yandex, the largest search engine in Russia. During his tenure as CFO at CTC Media, Lakhani led the company to a successful initial public offering (IPO).

Mr. Lakhani received his MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco School of Business in 1983, where he graduated at the top of his class and received the Scholastic Excellence Award.
