Professor Oberstone is now #5 with a bullet in the Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports.

Professor Joel Oberstone — Professor of Business Analytics, Department of Analytics and Technology — has been published, once again, in the JOURNAL OF QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS IN SPORTS.  His article, "Uncovering Europe's Best Goalscorers,” has already jumped to #5 most requested (in reprint) article, among 80 articles published in the last 18 months. The editors also selected it as the lead article of their current issue.

His paper published earlier this year, “Comparing Team Performance of the English Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga for the 2008-2009 Season,” is currently ranked the #9 most requested reprint at the Journal.

Professor Oberstone is also a regular columnist for WALL ST. JOURNAL EUROPE.

Associate Dean Tom Grossman added these comments:

Joel has been rapidly building his reputation as an astute analyst of a multi-billion dollar industry —  Europe's top professional football (we say "soccer") leagues . His work meshes data with analytics to create useful managerial insight.   His efforts are now garnering attention among senior managers of teams and companies in this business.
