The Anglican Communion’s first woman bishop, the Right Reverend Barbara Harris speaks to the St. Cyprian’s congregation prior to her consecration in 1989.

St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church has an honored place in San Francisco, as the first Episcopal church in the city for black parishioners. It was founded in 1870 by men and women of African-American and West Indian heritage. Today, The School of Business and Professional Studies has a service relationship with the parish through our Public Service Internship Program, which funds business majors to perform skilled services to underserved and underfunded organizations.
Below is an item from the recent St. Cyprian’s newsletter introducing our student, Andy Sakhrani. He is joined at St. Cyprian’s by Business Major Rochelle Ruiz, who is interning with St. Cyprian’s African-American Arts Complex.
