Career Services Gets New Director

Lynette Ferguson

Lynette Ferguson, Director of Career Services

Danielle Glynn, Executive Director of Graduate Programs, has announced the appointment of a new Director of Career Services.  Here’s the official announcement about Lynette Ferguson.

I am pleased to announce that Lynette Ferguson has been hired as the Director of Career Services for the School of Management.  Lynette’s responsibilities will include sourcing jobs and internships for our students, creating Professional Development activities, and developing relationships with companies throughout the Bay Area. I am so excited to have someone of her caliber on the team, and I look forward to her contributions for the school.  Recently, our new interim Dean, Mike Webber, has emphasized his commitment to our alumni, saying: “we want our students to join us for life, “ and our plan is that career services will evolve to support that vision.

Lynette was born and raised in Michigan and after graduating from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, began her career in technology sales to law firms.  With a strong foundation in sales and management positions for software and consulting firms in Michigan and Washington D.C., she and her husband Mitch moved to the Bay Area in 1993 to maximize their exposure to opportunities in Silicon Valley.  After several years at Sun Microsystems, Lynette transitioned her career into the staffing and recruiting industry when the opportunity to run a boutique firm came along in San Francisco.  She collaborated on a growth strategy with the owner to include financial services and biotechnology placements and the company's strong performance over the next 4 years led to a successful acquisition in 2000.  Lynette has continued her entrepreneurial path over the last decade with various roles in community commerce, real estate and operations consulting for several small businesses.  Throughout her career, Lynette has worked in a wide variety of business settings ranging from large corporations to start-ups and has enjoyed the unique knowledge and experience that each has to offer.

Lynette’s office is in Malloy Hall Room 420 and her extension is x4708.

Please join me in welcoming Lynette to USF!
