Kristen Durham of The Bay Area Council.
Kristen Durham — Vice President of Global Initiatives and the China Activities Coordinator at Bay Area Council — was the scheduled speaker for Professor Stanley Kwong’s BUS350 class on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Ms. Durham’s appearance is a further indicator of the deepening relationship between the USF BPS Globalization of Chinese Business program, and the Bay Area Council.
The Bay Area Council is a business-sponsored, public-policy advocacy organization for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. The Council proactively advocates for a strong economy, a vital business environment, and a better quality of life for everyone who lives here.
In a sign of the exploding importance of China to the Bay Area’s economy, the Bay Area Council opened its first overseas global office in Shanghai, China in 2010. The office is located in Shanghai’s Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) in the Yangpu District. The Shanghai Bay Area Council’s office will focus on assisting small, medium and large Bay Area businesses access the Chinese market, help bring the Bay Area’s brightest minds and best technologies to bear in China’s development, and guide Chinese companies and investment to the Bay Area.
USF BPS was co-host of the International Association Of Chinese Management Research in Shanghai last June, and collaborated with Bay Area Council as they began their Shanghai work.
Kristen Durham will be speaking on the Bay Area Council’s Global initiatives on March 29, 2011.
