As the natural gateway for Asian businesses entering the United States, Chinese companies are already in San Francisco, looking for talent and opportunities. In recognition of this fact, in November 2008, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom announced the opening of ChinaSF, a business office in Shanghai for the city's Office of Economic Development that aims to help Chinese businesses relocate to San Francisco.
