We are delighted to announce that
our USF MBA students will be competing in the Silicon Valley Region of the
international Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) organized by UNC
this Friday. Please see regional brackets at http://www.vcic.unc.edu/
The VCIC is essentially a reverse
business plan competition where teams of graduate students take the role of a
venture capital firm and analyze and interview actual start-up firms and submit
financing bids (term sheets). The student teams are evaluated by practicing venture capitalists and angel investors. This will be the
8th year in a row that USF SOM had a team compete.
In the first round our USF MBA team
of Jason Pfeifer, Sam Leung, Stavros Christoforou, Nikolaos Christopoulos, and
Marcelo Ringeling, will compete with MBA teams from USC, Cal, BYU, U.
Washington, and U. Texas.
Many thanks to our MBA team for
diligently preparing for this event since December and to fellow faculty coach
and venture capitalist, David Epstein, and VCIC student alumni coach, Jacob
Gelfand, and numerous contest alumni for sharing their expertise with our team
during the last 2 months.
Best Wishes for our team as they
represent USF on this national stage.
