Graduate Clubs and Organizations

Getting involved in any numerous clubs and organizations at USF gives you a chance to use and develop your managerial and leadership skills. Network with fellow students and business professionals, enhance your resume and get a taste of career opportunities by serving on a committee, running for a board position or putting together an event.

BioBusiness Association

The USF BioBusiness Association is your link to the world’s largest and most prolific biotech cluster. In 2012 the Bay Area remains the heart of the biotech industry, and you’ll stay informed and on the pulse through our events. We are committed to connecting biotechnology and business by strengthening our industry knowledge with monthly speaker events, developing a professional network, and ultimately securing our careers within BioBusiness. Business Analytics Club

The Business Analytics Club will supplement business analytics courses offered in the MBA program at USF as well as introduce students to analytics beyond the classroom. Our aim is to harness students’ intellectual curiosity and develop business analytics skill sets needed in the work place. In order to achieve this goal, the club will endeavour to host events that allow students to look beyond Microsoft Excel and focus on applying analytical thinking and methodology to interpret business problems into functional models.

Challenge for Charity (C4C)

The MBA Challenge for Charity (C4C) is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization that draws on the talents, energy, and resources of MBAs from nine West Coast business schools to support Special Olympics and family-related local charities, and to develop business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility. These goals are accomplished through volunteerism and fundraising which are fostered by collegial interaction and friendly competition. USF specifically supports the San Francisco Food Bank and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), in addition to the Special Olympics. Dialogue Fog

Dialogue Fog is the University of San Francisco's Toastmasters Club and was started in the Fall of 2010. Our goal is to make you a more poised and polished leader and speaker. At every meeting, there is an opportunity to learn and enhance critical business skills and we offer opportunities to:

  • deliver various types of speeches
  • develop and enhance listening skills
  • devlope critical thinking skills
  • build leadership skills
  • develop a presence
  • communicate non-verbally
Entrepreneurship Club (eClub)

The eClub (Entrepreneurship Club) is an MBA student organization at the USF School of Business. It coordinates all the student groups and activities that serve the entrepreneurial interests of USF MBA's. The eClub focuses on venture capital, business plan competitions, small business ventures, technology and innovation, and of course, entrepreneurship. From competitions, company visits, pitch nights, and guest speakers, the eClub will help develop connections and foster an environment for entrepreneurs.

Finance Club

The USF MBA Finance Club was established to help MBA students gain knowledge and experience in finance and investing. The Finance Club is slated to have guest speakers throughout the course of the year and meetings where students can learn about investing and valuation techniques in a collaborative environment.

Graduate Business Association

The Graduate Business Association is a student-run organization that serves as a liason for students, faculty and adminstration. We support the USF MBA Clubs, facilitate alumni contacts, and foster community through social and professional events. International Business Club

International Business Club is designed for all students who are interested in the broad area of the business transaction in the global environment including but not exclusive to global operations and strategy, international trade and investment for both multinational enterprises and small business in for profit and non profit sectors. The purpose of the club is to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in these international transactions and provide networking and career opportunities through guest speaker sessions, workshops, company visits, real life projects as well as other social events.

International Students Club

International Students Club (ISC) bridges the cultural gap among students by providing a global home for sharing culture backgrounds, academic experiences, and business knowledge. This cultural exchange allows non-international students to understand the cultural of another country and international students to gain insight into the American culture. The club also celebrates diversity by providing a safe, respectful, and mutually supportive environment for the development of students. This purpose does not contradict the University’s mission or its Catholic, Jesuit character.

LGBTQ & Allies Club

The LGBTQ & Allies Club addresses issues and topics of interest to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning people as well as to their friends and allies. The club further strives to raise awareness for matters of diversity and to contribute to an open and inclusive climate in the School of Management. The club is dedicated to creating professional business connections and networks within the LGBT community. This student run organization seeks opportunities to connect with alumni, attend professional LGBT conferences and creating on campus events to engage all programs under the School of Management.

Malloy Group

The USF MBA Consulting Club supplements USF consulting coursework to better prepare students for careers in consulting. The Consulting Club aims to supplement the MBA consulting courses and educate students on the consulting landscape, provide exposure to local firms and networking opportunities, and to provide practical training for case interviews.

Marketing Club

The American Marketing Association is one of the largest professional associations for marketers in the world, with over 38,000 members in every area of marketing. For sixty years the AMA has been the leading source for information, knowledge sharing, and development in the marketing profession.

The USF MBA Chapter of the American Marketing Association is dedicated to helping our members determine their career path, and then build the network of connections necessary to meet their career goals. To that end, our chapter works very closely with the San Francisco AMA chapter for marketing professionals in the bay area.

Mutlicultural Graduate Student Alliances (MCGSA)

The purpose of the MCGSA is to promote the social and professional health of USF’s SOM graduate student population, while inspiring inclusion, acceptance, and earnest communication with an emphasis on cultural diversity.

Net Impact

Net Impact at USF is organized for and by USF graduate students to inspire stewardship in corporate and social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, non-profit management, international development and environmental sustainability amongst the university's future business leaders. We have a number of programs and initiatives to educate, equip and inspire students to make a tangible difference through business. This is accomplished by:

  • Exposing students to corporate, social, and environmental responsibility issues
  • Introducing concepts of sustainability that are applicable in all sectors of industry
  • Connecting students and providing them with hands-on experience with businesses, organizations and individuals who share Net Impact's core values.
  • Creating a network of businesses, organizations, and professionals for students to broaden their business education, refine their leadership skills, and pursue their professional goals.
