Bachelor of Science in Management

As of Fall 2012, we are no longer accepting applications for Business Economics, Information Systems, Organizations, Leadership, and Management, and Public Administration.
The School of Management will be offering a new Bachelor of Science in Management degree starting in Spring 2013.

The University of San Francisco School of Management is proud to offer a new degree in Management starting in Spring 2013. In response to market demand, career development goals of our degree completion students, and the standard of excellence sustained by our newly affirmed AACSB accreditation, we are proud to offer this new degree completion program to meet the challenges of our complex and globalized world.

Consider the School of Management’s “Vision of One” in meeting your educational goals:

  • One Degree Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) that may be completed in 23 months.
  • One Common University Core (44 credits required) 12 combined University Core credits consisting of Ethics and Society (4), Interdisciplinary Research & Writing (4), and Foundations of Organizations and Management (4) are built into the major. Students may earn additional transfer credits to meet part of the University Core through the Interdisciplinary Studies Assessment (ISA), CLEP exams, PEAI, and Extended Education opportunities.
  • One Common Management Core (20 credits required) of foundational coursework in management; engage in disciplines, learning theories and concepts that provide the most strategic  and operationally relevant foundation for having a seat at the table whether you are working in government and industry, the public or private sector, in any number of professional fields. Coursework includes content from a theoretical and pragmatic perspective, providing and building upon your experiences in Leadership, Management and Organizations; Economics; Public Policy; Regulatory Environment and Law; Information Systems & Analytics; as well as understanding the financial and accounting information necessary for decision making in a globalized world.
  • One Concentration (16 credits required) to explore a particular area of interest, choosing courses from specialty areas and/or putting together a group of courses to focus on an interdisciplinary management area. Concentration coursework may be taken at the Hilltop (San Francisco) campus or across the branch campus network with flexible scheduling and opportunities to accelerate your program or extend the program to fit your schedule. Use your BSM degree to begin the critical path toward a master's degree at select branch campuses. Coursework can be drawn from areas including: Business Economics, Public Administration, Organizational Behavior and Leadership, and/or work with an advisor to create an interdisciplinary designed program combining courses from across the disciplines to focus on your personal and professional goals.

Complete a minimum of 128(*) credits through general elective and transfer credit to supplement the major and University core to meet the University requirements for an undergraduate degree.

(*) Students have the opportunity to earn up to 21 additional tuition-free credits through ISA, as well as the opportunity of earning credit through CLEP and other acceptable sources determined by University Evaluators in order to complete the minimum 128 credits necessary to graduate with the BSM degree.
