see more details and how you can get involved >>
The USF EdgeOnCampus Mentorship Program is an online resource connecting USF students with alumni, faculty, and others who mentor them by providing advice, information, and support. USF students may choose Mentors who have similar career, academic, or cultural interests and who have expertise in areas ranging from globalization, entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, business and beyond.

Why not Expand your World?

As a Mentee, you can gain perspective on your long-term career goals; acquire advice on balancing education, career, and extracurricular activities; and receive honest feedback and encouragement. As a Mentor, you can build a student's confidence, knowledge, and motivation needed to succeed by sharing your expertise and support. Students, staff, and alumni can further broaden their networks by also informally linking up with other Mentorship Program participants.

Mentors & Mentees: How the Program Works

  • Alumni and students register to participate in the Mentorship Program. (See How to Register below). Please note that these networks are exclusive and closed to non-affiliated users.
  • Mentees select one or more Mentors from the on-line database, initiate the first contact with their Mentor(s), and take the lead on staying in touch. (Please note that Mentors do not select Mentees.)
  • Mentors do not have to be located in the Bay Area: communication can be via email, phone, or in person. Mentees and Mentors communicate in whatever way is most comfortable to them and works best with their schedules.

Of Special Note for Mentors

  • Once you are selected to be a Mentor, encourage your Mentee to be candid about what he/she hopes to gain from the experience. Please note that it is not a Mentor's responsibility to find employment for a student.
  • How much time you commit to mentoring is up to you. You can decide how many Mentees you accept and how much time you dedicate to each student.

How to Register

In order to register, you will need to have a current USFConnect email account. Before registering, please check your USFconnect account to see if it is overly full. If it is over-quota, you will need to delete unneeded emails in order to receive the Mentorship registration email containing your temporary password.

If you have already registered without taking this step, you will not receive a confirmation email. Please clear out your USFconnect inbox of over-quota emails and reregister for the Mentorship Program. Reregistering will then generate a new confirmation email. We apologize for this technical difficulty!

  • If you already have a USF email address and password: Go to the USF EdgeOnCollege  Mentorship site to register.

Forgotten your USFConnect Login?

  • If you have some, but not all, of your USF login components
Go to the USFConnect login page and click on the "Need your user name?" or other relevant question under the login fields on the left.(Note that your user name is the portion of your USF email address before the "@" sign.)
  • If you don't have an active USF e-mail account
You can obtain one by visiting Request a USFconnect Email Account, where you can fill in the requested information.

Within 3 days, you will receive an email containing your new USF email address and instructions for retrieving your password. Your new USF e-mail address will enable you to register for the Mentorship Program on the USF/EdgeOnCollege web site.
