About Me:
I was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia but have also lived and worked in various locations throughout BC and Alberta. I moved to California in 1984 and have lived in San Francisco since 1987. I have a B.A. in Liberal Studies, Humanities Emphasis, from San Francisco State University (1991) and a Master of Library and Information Studies with Archival Administration Concentration from UC Berkeley (1993).

Work:
I joined USF’s Gleeson Library as a Librarian in 1998. Prior to that, I was Archivist for Buddhist Churches of America from 1993-1998. While attending SFSU and UC Berkeley, I worked at Gleeson Library as a Library Assistant in the Periodicals Department from 1987-1993. My primary duties as Periodicals Librarian include management of the Periodicals Unit including the public service desk and bindery processing operation; maintenance and preservation of the print journal collection; classroom instruction in my primary liaison areas; research meetings with individual students; reference public service and collection assessment and development (both books and journals).

Professional Interests:
Archival collections / historic documents; journal collection management (print and electronic); using Web 2.0 tools (i.e. Library 2.0) for promoting library resources and library instruction; blogging at Periodical World.
