Personal material must be picked up by the end of the semester. All other material is returned to the library stacks.
Indicate the loan periods for each item. Because demand for materials can fluctuate, we reserve the right to adjust assigned loan periods to accommodate the needs of students.
Five loan periods are available:
Library Use Only
Materials are charged out for two-hour periods and must be used in the building. They do not circulate overnight.
Two Hour
Materials are charged out for two-hour periods and may be taken outside the building. They may be borrowed for overnight use one hour before the Library closes and are due one hour after opening the following day.
Three Hour Film
Materials are charged out for three-hour periods, and may be taken outside the building. They may be borrowed for overnight use two hours before the Library closes and are due one hour after opening the following day.
24 Hour
Materials may be checked out at any time and are due 24 hours later.
One Week
Materials are due any time on the seventh day.
Submit Reserves Request Form and materials to Circulation/Reserves staff two weeks before the semester begins.
Submit book purchase requests to the Circulation/Reserves Librarian 6 to 8 weeks before the semester begins.
A minimum of three days is required to process physical materials.
At the end of each semester, course material is removed and course web pages are deactivated. Personal material must be picked up by the end of the semester. All other material is returned to the library stacks. To activate a course for the next successive semester, fill out a new Reserves Request Form.
Please remind your students that University Library policy requires that they present a valid USF I.D. to check out Reserves material.
General guidelines of this nature cannot hope to cover all situations which may arise. We wish to be as flexible as possible in meeting the needs of students and faculty. If further questions arise, please do not hesitate to bring them to our attention: gleesonreserves@usfca.edu.
