The periodicals are located on the 2nd Floor of the Library. To find out if the library owns a periodical, search the title in the Journal Finder

Current unbound issues and bound periodicals are arranged alphabetically in the periodicals stacks on the 2nd floor. Newspapers are arranged alphabetically on shelves adjacent to the Periodicals Service Desk. The current issues of some popular journals and newspapers are shelved in the display area.

Microfilm is used for most older newspapers and some periodicals. The ERIC education collection is on microfiche. The periodicals staff will provide any assistance needed to use the microform scanning / printing equipment.

Online Access to Periodicals

Many periodicals and newspapers are available in various full text databases: locate your journal title here.

Copiers

Photocopiers are located in the Periodicals Stacks near the shelving area for Chemical Abstracts . All photocopiers accept DonDollars cards and cash. A change machine for $1 and $5 bills is available on the first floor.

Indexes

Periodical indexes are located in the Reference Department, and many are available online. These indexes should be consulted for specific journal citations on a selected topic before searching the periodicals on the 2nd Floor.

Borrowing Periodicals

Bound and unbound Periodicals will circulate only to Faculty.  Unbound issues that do not circulate include newspapers and current issues of magazines that are in red display binders. 

These items can be checked out from the Access Services Circulation Desk. A USF ID card is required.
