Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

The IPCC was established to provide an objective source of information about climate change. Its role is to assess on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis the latest scientific, technical and socio-economic literature produced worldwide relevant to the understanding of the risk of human-induced climate change, its observed and projected impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation.

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

UNEP’s activities cover a wide range of issues, including encouraging protection of ecosystems, the promotion of environmental science and information, and developing capacities to deal with environmental disasters and at-risk habitats

World Resources Institute

Center for International Earth Science Information Network

CIESIN’s mission is to provide access to and enhance the use of information worldwide, in order to advance understanding of human interactions in the environment. The center specializes in on-line data and information management, spatial data integration and training, and interdisciplinary research related to human interactions in the environment.
