This database is the online version of the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Released in June, 1998, it was the first multi-volume encyclopedia of philosophy published in over 30 years. It contains over 2,000 original articles from over 1,300 leading experts across the discipline of philosophy. Topics include Anglo-American, ethical and political, cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, continental and contemporary philosophy.

What years does the database cover?

The encyclopedia covers philosophical topics throughout recorded history. It was published in June 1998, and the database is updated quarterly.
