Who should use this database?

Anyone looking for information about Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean basin, the United States-Mexico border region, and Hispanics in the United States. Researchers may also want to use the complementary database HLAS Online (Handbook of Latin American Studies).

What kinds of materials are referenced in the database?

HAPI Online is produced by an editorial staff at the UCLA Latin American Center. The database contains bibliographic citations to journal and magazine articles, book reviews, documents and original literary works. Most references are either in Spanish or English.

1970 to the present. About 8000 new records are added every year.
