About me:
I grew up in Petaluma, CA. I have a B.A. in English from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Masters in English Literature from San Francisco State University. I’m currently enrolled in the Masters of Library and Information Science program at San Jose State University.
While earning my B.A., I worked as a Student Assistant at Cal
Poly’s Robert E. Kennedy Library. I also lived in Aix-en-Provence, France for a
year during college, and spent three months traveling through New Zealand after
I graduated from Cal Poly. Soon thereafter, I moved to San Francisco, and after
two years of working in Human Resources at a large investment company in the
financial district, I accepted a job at Gleeson Library.
At Gleeson:
I am the stacks coordinator at the library, which means that I
supervise the shelving, shelf-reading and shifting of materials within the
stacks. I also work at the Access Services desk, and enjoy writing occasional
posts for the library blog, working on library displays, and welcoming students
and faculty to the library.
Interests:
Embedded librarianship, digital humanities, social media, library history and its intersections with artistic and literary movements: one of my favorite parts of my masters thesis project was reading about the 135th Street Branch of the NYPL during the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s.
