This related site is particularly important now that the Ethics
2000 Commission has finished its draft work and the ABA House of
Delegates has completed (with some changes) passage of these proposals.
Margaret Colgate Love, a member of the "E2K" Commission, has done
an excellent series of clear and concise periodic updates on the
status of the major changes to the Model Rules. Updates include
a highlighted comparison of changes made by "E2K."
http://www.legalethics.com
This site, maintained by cyberethics expert Peter Krakaur, posts
a wealth of legal ethics information, including a large library
of state ethics opinions, information on Internet ethics and other
cyberspace issues, as well as links to other information. This is
one of the first sites to explore. www.legalethics.com/ethics.law
www.legalethics.com/ethics.law is an excellent place to start an
ethics-related search.
http://www.law.cornell.edu/ethics
Under the able stewardship of noted ethics professor Roger Cramton,
and thanks to a grant from the W.W. Keck Foundation, Cornell's American
Legal Ethics Library is perhaps the most complete research library
of information on legal ethics.
http://www.ethicsandlawyering.com
is perhaps the best site to read about current issues in legal ethics.
Site owners William Freivogel and Lucian Pera write periodic newsletters
covering current events in a chatty and readable style that is both
accurate and informative. Past issues of the newsletter are archived.
Bill Freivogel is a former counsel with ALAS, the leading insurance
carrier for large law firms, and also maintains an on-line site
on conflicts of interest. Lucian Pera is a Memphis trial lawyer
and a member of the Ethics 2000 Commission.
http://www.freivogelonconflicts.com
is Bill Freivogel's conflicts of interest site-an immensely valuable
source for both recent decisions and opinions on legal ethics and
a library of conflicts information divided by substantive category.
http://www.nobc.org This
site is operated by The National Organization of Bar Counsel, whose
members are comprised primarily of bar disciplinary counsel. The
site, focused on attorney discipline, provides a useful, broad ethics
overview, and posts, discussions, and summaries of new court cases
involving attorney discipline. There is also a Listserv forum.
http://www.hricik.com/business.html
is a valuable center for information about electronic and Internet,
and IP legal ethics issues maintained by David Hricik, a Texas attorney
and adjunct law professor.
http://findlaw.com/01topics/14ethics/index.html
contains an ethics and Professional Responsibility web guide that
provides useful links to court decisions, articles, websites and
other sources involving legal ethics.
